The Japanese-Philippine Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA) has already been signed by the Philippine and Japanese officials. This means caregivers and nurses can now apply for work in Japan. The employer and the Japanese government will shoulder the airfare and the cost of the training in Japan. They can give a monthly compensation of P50,000 to P80,000.

Nurses should have a minimum of 3 years experience. Caregivers should have a 4-year college degree. Nurses can also apply for the caregiver positions.

For those who are interested, you can go to the web site of Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA) for more details and for online application. Do not go to the employment agencies. Go directly to POEA.
