Responsibilities and tasks
• Actively participate Profiles identified Microsoft applications from existing infrastructure applications or new project and transition their support to the managed IT Operations’ structure.
• Part of the global team that provides operations support ownership to Microsoft applications in IT Operations.
• Share and receive knowledge within the team so that the team as a whole is able to provide 24/7 operation globally. 24/365 operations of the transitioned Microsoft applications to ensure delivery and continuous improvement of provided operating service levels according to agreed or established SLA/OLA and meet the defined key performance indicators.
• Respond accordingly being part of the escalation contact to support incident, problem, change management and other ITIL processes concerning the operation of Microsoft Applications.
• Extensive interaction and coordination with the other teams within and outside IT in order to identify areas recommended for improvement e.g. consolidation, automation and simplification, this will encompass activities such as remote system administration and support including remote and/or on-site implementation and maintenance, monitoring, patch management, performance and availability management, capacity planning, configuration management, job scheduling, housekeeping procedures, documentation and other basic to advanced level support to the global infrastructure applications.
• Ensure individual alignment to team tactics and strategies.
• Promote best practices within the area of responsibility in adherence to IT policies and procedures.
• Explore other technologies that maybe required supporting Microsoft platform applications.
• Plan, manage and execute deliverables and timelines within work stream.
• Support continuity and security management by coordinating disaster recovery plans, security measures, and monitoring of adherence to the IT policy and procedures.
Qualifications and work experience
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Possess sound technical experience in a dynamic working environment.
• Worked effectively with global organization having a distributed teams providing remote and on-site administration and engineering support to application infrastructure.
• Working technical knowledge in administering the following
• Microsoft application technologies including but not limited to Windows server, client-server apps, web(IIS) apps and others.
• MOSS, FAST and other Sharepoint technologies.
• License management
• Holds certifications on core Microsoft technologies related to applications infrastructure administration is preferred.
• Good oral and written communication skills along with strong customer service focus.
• Flexible and adaptive to a dynamic work environment with “can do” attitude. An optimistic team player who performs well under pressure with the ability to deliver quality support in a time critical environment.
• Understanding of ITIL processes, certification preferred but not required.
