Marine Manager

Responsibilities:
Our client is looking for an experienced and qualified Marine Manager. The chosen candidate shall be responsible for providing full nautical operational support to all owned and managed vessels through planning and coordinating navigational or voyage requirements and ensure the availability of charts and publications for the Mariners.
The candidate must possess the following knowledge and skills:
Possesses technical expertise to detect overdue maintenance or inspect towing gears and salvage equipment and implementing preventive maintenance and risk management program for infrastructure and equipment
Preparing load-out and discharge plans for semi-sub barge in close cooperation with Operations Manager and project manager and naval architects
Extensive experience in formulating annual operating plans, budgets and capital expenditure as a result of obsolete equipment or possible improvements to navigational instruments
Adheres to the highest standards for safety and security, advises Operations / QHSE departments immediately of incidents occurring during operations
Experienced in the preparation of the full detailed specifications for repairs to towing equipment, gear and other outfitting whenever required, in cooperation with master before commencing the voyage or after the voyage
Possesses the expertise in regulations re cargo preparation and is the source of information of master and officers
Strong problem solving and analytical skills to take immediate action or corrective action on site
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills across cultures
Proven skills in establishing strong relationships with other Charterers, Port Authorities, agents and Vessel Masters
Exceptional people management skills in the areas of recruitment and supervision of employees
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Nautical Science or related field or 10 years of equivalent demonstrated work experience
Minimum of 7-10 years experience in a ship Management company
Management Level License. Active participant in the Merchant Marine Individual Ready Reserve
Requires a combination of technical and managerial expertise, exposure in business planning and operation
