Mobile Device Management (MDM) Remote Technical Account Manager (TAM)

As an MDM Technical Account Manager, you will act as a technology consultant specializing in Mobile Device Management with a broad range of expertise including server administration and setup, server software configuration, technical installation, configuration, and training of Absolute’s MDM products.
You will be a chargeable and a remote customer-facing services professional tasked with planning and executing MDM technology projects that drive the success of customer deployments of Absolute technology.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Delivering technical and non-technical services for chargeable customer projects.
Technical:
• Installation and configuration of Absolute’s MDM products
• Troubleshooting new MDM product installations, ensuring software activation and connectivity
• Advising on deployment approaches and developing best practices business processes
• Working with associated technologies (including databases, operating systems, networks and security products) to prevent and resolve issues with the operation of the Absolute products
Non-Technical:
• Lite project planning
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Client expectation and scope management
• Project and activity status reporting
• Issue escalation and resolution
Contributing to Absolute’s corporate knowledge and best practices by:
• Capturing best practices in knowledge base or shared documents
• Helping to develop best practices and department documentation, whether procedural or technical
• Consulting with customers on IT practices as part of an Absolute services project
• Working closely with Global Support and Development teams, ensuring issues are logged correctly
Assisting PS management with internal activities or programs, such as:
• Methodology development
• Template development
• Estimating of effort for technical work in PS sales
Position Qualifications:
Education
• Formal technical training expected, especially in areas of network, security and server administration.
• General computer science qualification expected; university degree preferred.
Experience
• Experience with projects deploying Absolute client and server products preferred
• Customer facing delivery/consulting experience required
• Experience with software deployment technologies, networks and databases required
• Experience with of Apple AppStore and iTunes
• Experience with MDM software preferred or other deployment of mobile devices
Knowledge and Skills:
Required
• Set up/administration skills for server operating systems including: Windows 2003/2008 Server, Mac OS X Server 10.5 and higher.
• Sound knowledge of both Windows XP/7 and Mac OS X
• Experience with Active Directory or other directory systems
• Setup and administration skills for iOS
• Setup/administration for web server software including IIS 6 or above and/or Apache
• Sound knowledge of certificate services
• Sound knowledge of networking and routing troubleshooting (router, firewall, proxy servers)
• Previous experience with services and IT roll-out project lifecycle
• Domain knowledge of IT Asset Management and Security concepts and best practices, including anti-virus and encryption
Preferred
• Previous experience with MDM or Lifecycle Management Solutions such as Casper, AirWatch, BES, MobileIron, BigFix, KACE, LANDesk or Altiris
• Installation and operation of Absolute technologies preferred
• Microsoft MCSE certification, or Apple ACSA 10.6+
